We own a 3 year old cat named Hobbes. (My overly intelligent, slightly sarcastic child is the Calvin in my life; we now have a Hobbes)
He's a purebred, left handed, orange tabby male Maine Coon who is full of life and curiosity. He sports the letter M on his forehead and exhibits classic Maine Coon behavior. He is very dog like, will come when he's called and will do tricks for treats. He will play fetch when he feels like it and ignores us when he doesn't.
He loves to be where ever we are in the house. If Joseph is cooking, Hobbes will invite himself into the kitchen and occupy a prime space on the floor where he can see everythng...... even if he's in the way. If Patti goes into the bathroom to brush her teeth, Hobbes goes with her to supervise. Our gentle giant is so stealthy and quiet that we rarely hear him come in the room.
He tracks deer from the upper windows and he's a big baby who, when he's tired wants to be carried to bed.
Not every guest is as cat friendly as we are, so we keep Hobbes out of both guest bedrooms. If you leave your guest room or bathroom door open, he will invite himself in to say hello. If he sneaks in, just shoo him away.
